The actual implementation consisted of installing data cables from the antennas and receiving equipment into plastic cable channels on the roof of the "ships" of the university campus. The reason for the use was the mechanical properties of the cable channels together with the tight fixing of the lid against opening and accidental, unwanted manipulation of the wiring. The plastic cable channels replaced the hot-dip galvanised channels that were originally considered and partially implemented (their use was abandoned due to the short lifetime of metal trays in the same price range. The channels are embedded in the duckweed (aggregate) that covers the roofs of the campus, either just below the surface or with direct access to the route.
