Our company
CWS s r.o. is a purely Czech manufacturing and trading company, which deals with the development and production of plastic products for the protection of cables and other utility networks. Our biggest customers include companies engaged in the construction of power distribution systems, optical telecommunication networks, and transport protection and signalling systems.
We have our own product portfolio and use our technology for custom manufacturing. As part of production, we are able to provide financing of the necessary tools, organise the supply of input materials, ensure cooperation and assembly of the product, as well as ensure their storage depending on the specific storage conditions of the finished products.
The company’s headquarters are located in Ústí nad Labem, while the production plant is located in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands in Ledeč nad Sázavou, which has a rich industrial tradition and excellent transport accessibility within the motorway network.
CWS is a holder of ČSN ISO 9001:2009 certification. Among the titles that the company has received within the Czech business sector, the prestigious Company of the Year of the Ústí nad Labem Region, in 2007 and 2009, and Pike Czech Business awards stand out.
In recent years, CWS s.r.o. has not only invested significant resources in production facilities and machine technologies, but also in the promotion and distribution of our products on foreign markets. Every year we participate in important trade fairs in Central and Eastern Europe. Thanks to these and other foreign market activities, the share of exported products within the total sales volume grows significantly each year, up to 70% in 2023.

On 2 June 1993, CWS s.r.o. was established by registration in the Commercial Register. The primary company activity was the sale and service of computer equipment.
CWS has established close cooperation with the Prague office of the German company REHAU, particularly within the field of sales and distribution of cable installation systems for both internal and external installation.
This year saw the development and subsequent production of the plastic cable channel ZEKAN 1 and 2 cable channels. The cable channel was designed to save labour and transport costs while maintaining the same mechanical properties (compared to the original concrete cable channelchannels). The possibility of colour and identification marking also plays an important role.
At the time of the telecommunications boom in the Czech Republic, CWS became one of the leading suppliers of DEKAB plastic cable plates, which replaced the outdated technology of cable protection technology, i.e., brick covering or concrete platesslab covering.
After complex and demanding tests, the Railway Infrastructure Administration issued an ‘Introduction Certificate’ that allows the use and installation of ZEKAN cable channels in the construction of railway networks and corridors. Under the mark ZL 19/2009, it was extended in 2009 to include the use of other types of ZEKAN cable channels with accessories.
CWS has developed new products for installation in the grid at the request of the energy market.
The development and improvement of the utility properties of ZEKAN cable channels was continued. As a result of this work, the cover has been coated with a coloured coextrusion layer, which allows the channel to be differentiated in colour depending on the investor’s preference and at the same time guarantees short-term UV stability. The cable channel programme was further expanded with a range of shaped parts.
In January 2010, a production facility (15,000 m2) was acquired in Ledeč nad Sázavou in the Vysočina region. Subsequently, on 7 April 2010, the production of cable channels and plates was started, and the product range was expanded to include other types of cover elements.
Using state-of-the-art compression moulding technology, the range of cable protection products has been expanded to include a modular system of heavy-duty cable manholes. These manholes can be used with connecting conduits (PVC pipes, corrugated pipes) to create a re-entry cable duct system, which today forms a modern element of the infrastructure network.
The production of PVC pipes was the next logical step in consolidating our position as a leading supplier of a comprehensive range of products for the protection of ground-laid cables.
Expansion of production by 2 production lines for processing PVC and PE materials. Thanks to the purchase of the PE line, the company’s production portfolio could be expanded to include PE products – plates, strips, etc. The installation of another PVC line not only enabled the company to expand its own PVC material production portfolio, but also to focus on custom production for existing and new customers.
We have built modern warehouse areas and expanded our storage capacity to approximately 5,500 m². This step has ensured more efficient storage of our products.
Due to the ease of installation of PE sheets and strips, the demand for these products has increased and the company has expanded its production with two more PE production lines. The company is not only trying to digitise but also automate the production processes – this is why one of the new lines is semi-automatic and we are working on its full automation.
We carried out a complete refurbishment of the production hall, which included thermal insulation, modernisation of the production areas and conversion of the storage hall into a production hall.
Connecting the lines to a custom-designed production system for our manufacturing needs includes interfacing with accounting software. This system allows online monitoring of production processes, including quality, price and production capacity evaluation. In the future, we plan to connect new technologies and integrate with BI.
This year, we will expand our product portfolio to include the production of a cover sheet to complement our existing portfolio of cover plates and strips.
